In the article “What happens to your body after eating sugar?” Hunt (2020) explains the different impacts of high sugar consumption, types of sugar, and how to reduce sugar intake. We unknowingly consume a lot of sugar daily. Research reports that almost everyone exceeds the advisable sugar intake. The short term impacts of higher sugar consumption are mood fluctuation throughout the day, decrease in immunity, and teeth damage. The long-term impact of high sugar consumption is: it causes obesity which in turn causes deadly heart disease, diabetes type 2, and cancer. Furthermore, doctors reported that higher sugar intake is a reason for chronic inflammation that causes skin problems like acne. It also causes the early development of looser skin, wrinkles, and lines on the face. There are many types of sugar such as sucrose, lactose, fructose, and maltose. Sucrose is the crystal sugar that is used often, fructose is found in fruits and honey, while maltose is found in barely. There is a high amount of sugar in coke, energy drinks, ketchup, banana, doughnut, an apple, and creme egg. Consequently, when buying food items we must read the food label carefully to reduce our sugar intake. Because more than the advisable amount of sugar is added to the foods we buy.
I have found this source less reliable because GoodtoKnow is not a well-known magazine. Amy Hunt who is the author of the article has only four years of experience, and she is not an expert in the field of health
